The Volvo P1800 was produced from 1961 through 1973. The prototype had been shown four years prior, in 1957. It was the company’s sports car which combined attractive styling with good performance, along with the company’s reputation for well-built and safe automobiles. Italian coachbuilder Frua designed the unit-body chassis; it was assembled in England by sports car maker Jensen from pressings made in Scotland.
The P1800 was elevated to a new level of popularity while having a starring role in the British television series ‘The Saint.’
This late production P1800E is powered by a large 1986cc B20E engine with revised camshaft, Bosch electronic fuel injection, and four-wheel disc brakes. The top speed was achieved at 118 mph.
