PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE DESCRIPTION!!!!!! Good Daily driver and easily can become a show car with a little more work. Needs a few things here and there but its a 50 year old car, that’s expected.
Lets start with…
the good:
It is a California car with the original black and yellow plates. With a CLEAN California title in my name. No B.S. and no suprises when you go to register it! The car has never been in an accident, all original panels and sheetmetal. Floor and underside and frame rails and crossmembers are all 100% rust free! 4 speed manual with WORKING overdrive. Recent (within 5k miles) engine rebuild. Pictured is the new clutch plate and resurfaced flywheel. Transmission was cleaned and new seals installed, as well as new engine and trans mounts! New PPG single stage paint hand matched to the original factory color. New windshield. Cleaned gas tank, and no drainage issues with the gas flap door. New inner and outer wheel cylinders, new alternator, waterpump, radiator, master cylinder, and the carburetor was upgraded to a Weber! interior is complete, condition is 90% though. Restored upper dash. The original bumpers for a 66 are the straight ones, they were pretty trashed, so I replaced them with the early Jensen cowhorns front and back. Steering gear box is perfect, turns easily. The car starts right up and runs perfectly every time, and I drive it almost daily. Certain items are not pictured: window cranks, hubcaps, fresh air vent, etc… the car is complete the items are in great condition and ARE included. Pictured on the front wheels are two spoke rims, the original rims will be on the car with new tires. the spoke rims are not included.
The bad:
The car has a few issues, speedo angle drive gear is busted so speedo doesn’t work. The expensive gauge works fine though. Even with the recent engine rebuild, The front main seal is leaking, $5 part and 2 hours to fix. They are felt, I recommend a silicone upgrade. One stud is broken off in the engine block for the exhaust manifold and will need to be drilled out. As far as anything mechanical that’s an issue the car is in phenomenal working order, so there isn’t much that needs to be done on that end.
The Ugly:
I said the car is 99% rust free. The only rust on the car is on the bottom 2 inches of the rear valence all the way across. it is only on the outer skin, and the previous owner did a hack job trying to hide it with some bondo. You cant see it unless you’re on the ground looking up at it. All things considered, could be worse. The only other thing that is an issue cosmetically is the paint. It will need a 2nd coat as there are parts of the car that have orange peel and a few runs.It is new paint, it has not been wetsanded, buffed or waxed yet. looks great from 5 feet away. I still have over half a gallon of the paint and will include it with the sale. Maybe with some detail buffing you can make it look great without another coat. Lastly, some dope cut out the stock radio on the dash frame and replaced it with a modern unit. I hated this, so I purchased a spare uncut dash frame with a mint silver overlay and will also include it with the sale.
Overall this is a great, original , running, driving, registered, easy to fix p1800 in awesome condition that just needs a few things to be a jaw dropper. Car is currently located in Denver Co, and I will be happy to drive the car within 100 miles for no charge. Any other shipping will be handled buy the buyer.
Deposit of $500 due within 24 hours of auction close, remainder payment due between Feb 15-20th. Either by bank check or wire transfer, or whatever we both feel comfortable doing, however Paypal is not accepted for the remainder fee’s would be astronomical.
I am able to hold on to the car in a garaged, safe and climate controlled space indefinitely for as long as you need to arrange shipping. However payment in full must be received by my deadlines.
These are my terms and they are pretty reasonable, please do not bid if you do not intend to purchase, and if you have 10 or less feedback email before you bid. If you have zero feedback and do not contact me first, your bid will be deleted. I do not have time to play games with people who aren’t serious about following through.
If you have any questions please email me, I will respond quickly and answer whatever questions you have to the best of my knowledge. I have owned the car for 3 years and know every inch of it.
No reserve auction, Bid often and bid high! And most of all… Good luck. You won’t be disappointed.
